What is
Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive treatment that is commonly used to improve the appearance of common skin concerns such as sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, enlarged pores, blackheads as well as revitalizing of dull complexions.

There are various forms of microdermabrasion which include:

Diamond Tip – The treatment works by utilizing a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

Crystal – This technique sprays fine particles of aluminium oxide or sodium bicarbonate with a vacuum/suction to achieve exfoliation and resurfacing.

Hydro – Utilizes fluid to more gently remove the surface layer dead skin cells. More suited to those with extremely sensitive skin.

Microdermabrasion FAQs

Is there any downtime following the treatment?

Skin may appear slightly pink directly after the treatment however this will subside quickly thereafter. We recommend always applying appropriate sun protection post treatment.

Is this prodcedure suitable for me?

Microdermabrasion would be suitable for those with any of the following skin concerns:

  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • hyperpigmentation
  • enlarged pores and/or blackheads
  • acne and/or acne scars
  • stretch marks
  • dull complexion
  • uneven skin tone and texture

Would this be a safe procedure for me?

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and Fitzpatrick skin types.
