Skin Needling

What is
Skin Needling?

Skin needling involves using small needles to create microscopic injuries and invisible puncture holes in the top layer of the skin. This stimulates the body’s natural healing process resulting in increased collagen and production which in turn lifts, tightens and rejuvenates the skin.

Skin needling is effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, pigmentation, stretch marks and surgical scars. Compared to other skin rejuvenation treatments, skin needling is safe to be performed on any skin type, offers a short treatment time, minimal discomfort and little downtime.

Skin Needling FAQs

Are the treatments painful?

There may be some pinprick sensation but we look to ensure the treatment is made to be as comfortable as possible. Topical anesthetic can be applied 20-30min prior to your treatment to help alleviate discomfort.

Is there any downtime following the treatment?

Depending on your skin concerns and therefore how aggressively the treatment was performed, after the treatment you will experience some erythema (redness) as well as possible pin point bleeding. Minimal swelling may occur and be noticeable on the second after your treatment. Post treatment procedures will be explained during your appointment with your therapist.

How many treatments will I need?

The benefits on skin needling can be seen after a single treatment however a course of 3-5 treatments is generally recommended for maximum results. We recommend you space your treatments out about 2-4 weeks apart. In the case of more severe conditions, such as acne scar revision, you may need more sessions.
